happy easter!

So week 35 kind of got skipped because I was just to sick to do anything right that week haha. By the time I started feeling better it was like thurs/fri and the "week" was almost done so I figured I would just wait until my 36 week photos. The first one makes me belly look bigger then normal because Im holding my chest back, the ladies hide a lot of the bellies curviness haha. The middle pic makes my me look "slimmer" then usual... guess thats a product of the weight loss? haha. Or just a really good angle. The last picture is just me and the belly. The way the sweater is hanging makes my belly look like its sagging in the last pic haha.
So it was Easter on Sunday. My grandfather went to spend Easter with my mom and siblings and since I cant travel that far this late into pregnant David and I stayed behind and had a "no family" family dinner haha. The Matsons are having some parental drama with Megs parents and Nancy had made other plans not realizing they might want to hang with her so they came with the kiddos to join us. The Johnsons also came and ate dinner with us and then left to tend to their family obligations but were back at our house within 2 hours haha. The food was good, the conversation was fun, and the games were a riot! We even endured a pretty lengthy earthquake that none of "dropped, ducked and covered" for lol. We just sat there commenting on the quake haha.

We did a small "Eggy hunt" in our front yard for Makalah to do. My camera died early on so I only got a few pictures, and unfortunately they are ALL of Makalah... SORRY BROOKIE!! haha. Here is a little clump of the pictures I did get of Makalah. Clearly I should have been standing infront of her instead of behind since almost every picture is of the back of her head haha! Oh well. (Megan if you want the originals of these I can email them!! My blog is also private so people wont be able to randomly look at the pictures I post on here.)Shortly after these pictures were taken Makalah went on a sugar binge and became a basket case haha. I have never seen her so hyper/crazy lol. All I could do was crack up. Im sure I wasnt helping the situation much but seriously? SO FUNNY! haha. We ended up strapping her into the high chair and giving her real food (Strawberries, turkey cold cuts, cucumbers, and tortilla) to try and counter the sugar high and I wish I had gotten a picture of her face lol. She was crashing HARD from the come down and look like she was about to fall face first into her plate at any given moment lol.

We played the worlds longest game of PIT with everyone and then called it a night. The Matsons and David & I had work the next day so we figured it was best to call it a night and kick everyone out haha. I had a really restless night last night because I kept getting strong periodic contractions that would wake me up and then freak me out for a while lol. But overall? Im in a pretty good mood today. I am overly "emotional" in a "happy" way though today. Every cute thing makes me saw "awww" way to dramatically and any happy stories or nice gestures make me want to break out crying with "i love you man" mentality haha. Im feeling the love a little to strong today. HAHA!

On a random "Im overly emotionally pregnant today" note:
This song is so beautiful. I seriously am obsessed with it. Im sure that has a lot to do with the fact that I am pregnant and this is about pregnancy but I just love Colbie Caillat in general and this song just made me love her that much more.

Lyrics | Colbie Caillat lyrics - Capri lyrics

Like I said, I probably wouldnt be as obsessed with this song if I didnt happen to be pregnant lol but its a great song and will sound great at the "background music" to the dvd collage Im making of all my pregnancy photos and stuff to remember Adellas pregnancy by. Im excited. I also picked out a great song for the background music to the dvd collage I will be making of Adellas birth and her first few weeks. "Im a new soul" by Yael Naim.I love that song and its bubbly and will be cute to all her newborn pictures and stuff.

So I am now 36 weeks and 2 days pregnant, I have approximately 26 days to go. I am not fond of peoples remarkable rudeness when speaking about a pregnant womans body and can not wait to have the comments switch over to how cute the baby is rather then how large moms belly is lol. I am technically term on Saturday (April 10th) and will be full term on May 2nd. So that means start walking and everything that is safe and natural to get this baby out. I start my evening primrose oil inserts on Saturday (I bought them this weekend at mothers market), I start drinking my red raspberry leaf teah this weekend (I bought a new box this weekend at motehrs market too!) all which are things that will help my uterus soften and prepare. David and I will be spending a lot more "quality" time starting Saturday and hopefully I will be posting a birth announcement soon haha. Bring on the fresh pineapple, the spicy foods, the eggplant, the speedbumps...WHATEV! Granted, she wont come until she is ready... but no harm in helping if the process is ready to be helped right?? lol. Im excited to meet this little life and see what kind of person she is. I have a feel for her "in utero" attitude, Im curious as to if thats how she will be in real life too haha.

Ill let you know how it turns out afterwards that way if its a complete failure we can move on and hopefully you will all forget I even posted this, and if its a success? I will remind you all about this post with an update post haha.

bikinis on the brain?

Megan and Kisha have been talking about their future swimwear on their blogs. Megan posted a cute tankini with a unique halter neckline from one site, and Kisha posted almost the exact same bathing suit just slightly thinner straps and different colors from a different site. Funny how that happened haha. Its a really cute design so I understand why lol. I would never look good in a halter top because my "ladies" are far to large and need a little more "control. I also wont be walking around in any booty short bottoms or bikini cut briefs... the thunder thighs need a little more coverage. haha. I definately want something "slimming" in the midline as well, cause I had a gut prior to baby and I doubt it will just vanish after having a kid lol.

Maybe I should sport something like this and give a big "up yours!" to the world lol. fortunately for the world... I am far to modest for that lol. No one wants to see *ALL OF DIS* in so little of that lol.

So with all this talk of bathing suits it got me interested in seeing what was out there in the "modest" realm of bathing suits. I need something sturdy up top, controlling through the middle, covering on the bottom and over all just forgiving of my "flaws" lol. Its actually interesting how many options are out there. I guess I dont need to wear the giant floral grandma dress bathing suit after all right? lol. I am a fan of the more vintage cut types of suits, with darker colors because in my head black=slimming haha. I guess I am not really comfortable or ready to embark on a bathing suit journey. I want to see how my body responds to having the baby and then go from there.

Lets face it... I am never going to be a size 2. Infact I dont think I want to be, I doubt I would look healthy and I would have to spend all my time obsessing over my calories and crap to maintain that size and I wouldnt enjoy it. I am of athletic build... right now I am off "couch potato and pregnant" build... but when I am fit? Im athleticly stalky. I look trim and fit in a size 7 and I ideally should weigh around 145-155pds. Im also very dense. I dont have perfectly smooth skin, I got the cottage cheese thighs and butt dimples lol. My under arms are flabby and I got a double chin. I blamed my leg/knee injuries for a long time for my loss of a healthy body.

Well, not anymore. I will get healthy and in shape. I dont expect to pop Adella out and walk out of the hospital 50lbs lighter lol. But I do expect to walk out with a little girl who will be counting on me to show her how to grow up healthy and strong and the best way to lead is by example. I dont want her to have a fat unhealthy mother who eats nasty food all the time and its fine with settling on mediocre for her life. I want to be the best I can be so that she grows up striving to be the best she can be. So yes, its a long road ahead of me but I have a lot of people who support me and I also have a lot of people to keep me company on that road. We are in it together, sisters & brothers in Christ trying our hardest to make our bodies temples of the Lord and glorify him by treating what he gave us with respect and honor.

David and I have talked about this a lot before, and we are both very "mater of fact" dont sugar coat it... we both have verbally said "We dont want Adella to have fat parents". David is starting the WLC (weight loss challenge) on Tuesday April 6th. It costs $35 for 10 weeks and the top 3 "losers" win cash prizes. I lost like 45lbs with the WLC prior to getting pregnant and will begin doing them again after Adella is born. Im proud of David for starting now rather then later with me. He is doing his part to do better and be better for his daughter, and for me. I also want to be better for my daughter and for him. Health is really important and its kind of disgusting how society makes it so easy to be so unhealthy. Makes you really realize how important the word of wisdom actually is haha.

So for now, I am excited for the future and the work that is going to take place (along with the results) but I am enjoying the now with baby girl still inside of me and feeling her move and grow. I have my goals set, but not so high that my expectations will sabatoge me, and Im just ready to be all I can be (in the army...jk).

Its Thursday but feels like Monday

I have been out of work all week with this terrible "sinisitus" or whatever you wanna call it. Today I actually feel human though. The pressure in my face is still very strong and I can like hear it crackle and it "moves" which Im GUESSING is a good sign and means the pressure is trying to get out... but I dont really know haha. I also was able to TASTE my food today which was a huge triumph because I havent tasted what I have been eating in like 2 weeks... thus I have lost 2lbs haha. So Im back at -16lbs for this pregnancy. I wasnt trying to lose weight... I just genuinely was not interested in eating because I felt so crummy and when I mustered enough motivation to eat it was stuff like soup which is low in cal (usually) anyways. Im sure I will recover those 2lbs before my next OB appt lol...especially now that I can taste.

My grandpa leaves tomorrow for to visit my mom and siblings and his son (who is in prison in lompoc) until Monday. That gives David and I the house... running around naked much? jk. (kinda.) We didnt make any plans for the weekend because we werent sure how we were going to really feel given that we have both been under the weather but since things are looking up maybe we will get some deep cleaning done on Saturday, set up some dressers and clean out our bedroom. Turn the music up and get to it ya know? Take breaks to watch general conference and relax as well.

Sunday is Easter and we are having our family friends over... it will be a "Clausons" easters haha. David & I dont go to his parents house very often because its....um, less then cleanly lol. So Im sure we will drop off something on Saturday for the family in lue of having to spend all of Sunday over there. I am leary just dropping something off with our immune systems still being compromised... but its our family after all lol. My family is all out of town. The Matsons are not wanting to spend Easter with Megans family and Im assuming Nancy and Jen will have their own little pow-wow so the Matsons are gonna come over. Megan cooks a lot so it will balance out between the 2 families. Maybe I will go buy some easter eggs and stuff to hide for Makalah. Grandpa used to hide them in the front yard when I was a little girl, so if the Matsons are down for that then I will do something fun like that. It will make for cute pictures and a happy cub. Ill try to find little toys she would like though, rather then candy. I know Megan isnt super stoked about her kids eating candy (which makes total sense). Maybe the Johnsons will swing by if they arent in labor? Im not sure, they have CRAZY family obligations. Unlike the Matsons and Clausis... the Johnsons have like huge family gatherins and stuff. Very family oriented, which is cool.

Today is April fools day and it also happens to be the 2 year birthday of Davids oldest brothers daughter Catherine. She was born very premature and only weight like 1.5lbs. Her diaper was the size of a razor phone. It was INSANE!! So here is a little shout out to her, Happy Birthday little niecy!

I am feeling pretty well prepped for everything concerning Adellas birth. We just have cleaning and organizing to do. Between being tired and huge, and sick... the whole nesting thing just isnt kicking in for me lol. Im at the point where I will PAY someone to come and organize Adellas clothes and closet and stuff. Everything is "put away" but not like I want it to be. Just away. I was to tired to actually deeply organize it lol.

The Matsons are going to disneyworld soon. We were all going to go in September after la bebe was born but when we got down to planning it and buying tickets the Matsons realized that September might not work because Kalen is applying for EMT positions which might require Megan to quit and be with the girls full time because of Kalens hours. Well, David and I didnt want to risk them getting screwed out of a vacation or forcing Megan to work in a stressful situation with Kalens potential new job so we encouraged them to go asap. I could tell they were relieved that we werent upset lol. It would have been SO MUCH FUN but really, I was nervous about taking a 4-5month old baby to Florida in september anyways so this just sealed the deal on what decision to make. INSTEAD!!! We are going to plan a May 2011 Hawaiian vacation. Adella will be a year old, Brooklyn will be almost 2 years old, Makalah will be 3 1/2 years old and we will be able to just have fun and take the kids on the beach and do fun things. Maybe we will discuss splitting the airfare for a sitter to go with us to watch the kids on any nights we wanna go OUT or something ya know? Im stoked. I love Hawaii and want to take David to Maui (he has only been to Kauaii when we were on our honeymoon) and I think it will help all of us to work hard to look good on the beach. haha. Megan can sport her new hot pink and zebra tankini. lol. There are some good packages. Who knows, maybe we can get more couples to go to!

I am really sick of work, not gonna lie. I wish I had the option to cut down to part time but alas... Im stuck. If I leave early thats less time I get to spend with the baby afterwards. So I am trying to keep it together and get thru these next 4(ish) weeks until she is born. I got approved for my 12 weeks of leave. WOO HOO!

I have been sick

No... the title doesn't do it justice. I have been living out the worlds longest most dramatic death scene lol. I cried for like 5 hours straight on Saturday night (dramatic I know) because the pain in my head was so bad. When I finally broke down and went to the urgent care I was diagnosed with double (meaning both sides of my head) inner ear infections with a ruptured left ear drum and a buldging right ear drum. Well... that exaplains the dizzyness, the excrutiating pain, and the lack of hearing. I also was diagnosed with a bacterial sinus infection... that explains the intense pressure on my eyes making them water constantly (see I wasnt REALLY crying... it was the pressure lol) and the intense achining in my jaw causing my teeth to ache, and the ache in my cheeks giving me a head ache. I also was told I have a touch of bronchitis and was swabbed for strept throat/tonsilitis but I suspect my throat was just sore because of the post nasal drip. But who am I to diagnose. All that while almost 9 months pregnant... it was death. One doctor would say take this OTC med, then the other doctor would freak and say absolutely not, then the pharmisitist would reccomend another OTC drug and Id call L&D and they would tell me I was insane for wanting to take that... I was like seriously? lol. I just wanna feel better. So I stuck to tyleonal for the pain, benedryl to sleep and then was giving freaking hardcore strong antibiotics. I have taken 5 doses so far, and have 15 more to go to finish the supply. You bet I will finish the supply too. I dont EVER want to feel like this again... E-V-E-R-!

I have a lot I wanna blog about, and I will... but right now I need to get back in bed to continue the raging battle against the germs lol. I go back to work tomorrow so I will write then. I always have a lot of time then.

There always has to be SOMETHING

Warning: Slight vent ahead.

So, at my shower I had a great time. Good food, good people, great conversation and just happy good vibes all around. Nothing really went wrong and I got lots of compliments on what a nice occasion it was.

Well, a few hours after we left one of the guests, who is like a mother to me... called to let me know she left a silver nordstrom bag underneath the table where she was sitting. She was hoping I had seen it and picked it up. Well, I hadnt and neither had David or my mother or anyone else who was there helping. We didnt really "clean" up because theres a cleaning crew for that exact purpose. Once my stuff was loaded and the food was eaten David and I scanned the tables for anything left over but thats it. We didnt go underneath tables.

I called the hotel, she called the hotel, a few hours later David & I went back to the hotel to check, a few hours after that the person herself went to the hotel and dug through the trash bags from the party... NOTHING. Its gone. The first person she spoke with before the party was my mother and that was outsite the tent. My mom does not recall her having a nordstroms bag in hand. She then came in and hugged her daughter and another guest (both who dont recall her having the bag in hand) and then she sat at the table and said she pointed the bag out to her daughter and said "this is for you" and put it underneath the table between her and the person sitting next to her. Well, the people next to her... also a mother and daughter, had to leave the party early to get her husband to the airport so he could make it to a family funeral.

Well I dont think anyone from my shower "stole" the bag, and I think its safe to assume that no one picked it up as a good samaritan because they would have contacted me at this point to let me know they had it. I had to sound cliche... but if anyone took it Id assume it was the cleaning crew. I mean, a full nordstroms bag of MAC and Bobby brown make up? Thats like the jackpot for any woman lol. I love both those brands and I BARELY buy stuff from them because of the cost. I FINALLY bought a new studio fix powder from MAC for the shower but thats as far as my MAC collection goes lol. (plus it makes me break out... but ooo i look good when its on lol).

Well, the money is over 500$ worth in purchases (constitutes grand theft). VISA wont reimburse her without a formal police report, and to do that the police want the name, phone number, and address of everyone at the shower. Well, I cant just HAND the information out. I have to ask each person who attended permission to give their information and to do so I will have to explain that someone attending the shower had a bag of items stolen and wants to file charges on whoever did it so a formal report needs to be made. First, that makes me feel like I am accusing all these people of a *SERIOUS* crime when they were there to support me and make me feel loved and celebrate our baby. Secondly, I dont want people to remember my baby shower by this whole messy situation ya know?

Its putting me in a really awkward situation. I want her to get her stuff back, especially because I know it was a lot of money to lose. But I also dont feel comfortable getting all the people in attendance involved in a threatening way. How would you feel if you spent 50$ on someone to attend their shower and get a call saying "hey thanks for coming to the shower. loved your gift. PS- someone stole 500$ worth of merch so now we are pressing grand theft charges and I need to be able to give your information out since you were there and are now a potential suspect" ya know!? It makes it 100x worse because this is a very close family friend who I love VERY much and dont want to have any weird/resentful feelings with. Ya know!?

If you were me, what would you do?
Everything that she asked in hopes of recovering at least the money from VISA if not the products all together even if you have to "threaten" all your guests?
Apologize but say you do not want to get involved.
What!? Im at a loss here...
