HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEGAN!!
Today is Megans birthday, and for that I will do a personal shout out to Megs. We are so happy you are in our life and we adore your beautiful family. Thank you for being born and being the awesome friend you are to us today. David & I both hope that this is the best year of your life yet. You deserve it!! Come down this weekend so we can take you out to dinner!!
It has been rainging non stop man. Well, actually thats a lie. It has little breaks every so often. Suposedly the worst of the storm is gonna happen today. Its been a constant shower since I left this morning so we will see if it actually picks up and full blown storms again. The lightening and thunder that was going off on Tuesday was actually really awesome. My dogs went balistic but I loved it. I love the rain. I could never live somewhere where it rains constantly (bummer, guess Forks Washington is out lol) but I enjoy a few days of it every so often. Its just refreshing. Plus, I absolutely LOVE the sounds of the rain. I lay in my bed and read and crack the window open a tad so I can just listen to the "drip drop" of it all. It is extremely tranquil.
My friend who was due December 25th finally had her baby yesterday... January 20th haha. Talk about being OVER due. Little Mr. David Michael Taylor joined this world yesterday. I am so happy for them. I cant wait to meet him in a couple days. Holding newborns just gets me so excited and pumped for Adella. Pregnancy is entirely to long of a wait. ESPECIALLY for David and I!! I mean... we waited for basically 2.5 years to GET pregnant and now we have to wait 9 months to have the baby!! Thats over 3 years of waiting!!!! Im tired of waiting. I want her now!! But I will wait because I want her to fatten up and come out nice and pudgy and healthy haha. I love little fatty babies. They have the cutest cheeks.
So I only have a few more days of work left at my normal 7am-3:30pm schedule. Starting the first working day of February (which happens to be the 1st) I will have to work the late shift because the other assistant will be working upstairs for Feb & March because I am down here and so I have to make up her schedule. Its actaully kind of confusing. But bottom line is that I am thankful they are letting me be the temporary acting receptionist so that I dont have to leave work completely on disability yet. So my new schedule will be 10am to 6:30pm mon-fri. THAT SUCKS! I totally wont be sleeping in because David will have to get up anyways for work which will wake me up too. Then I will be driving home in the freaking DARK lol. I wont get home until around 7pm. Im super bummed about this but... like I said... grateful to still be working.
My mother and sister in law are throwing my baby shower so I had to get together all the people that I want to invite and need to invite. (Those are two totally seperate things if you know what I mean haha). I decided that I will have 1 shower (opposed to the 3 that were suggested). Originally it has been asked to have one with all my church girlfriends, one with all my friends and family, and one with all my coworkers. Well, to avoid the awkwardness thats going to be me as a blushing "mother to be"... I decided to group it all together. I am sending out about 55 invites but of those 55 I believe only about 25-35 will show up. A lot of people are out of state and stuff so it makes it easier for me. haha. Im not sure the venue yet, a couple places are being tossed around. I think the front runners are either Bucca Di Beppo by the Bella Terra in Huntington Beach, or the Edison Community Center Recreational Room. It will be on March 20th at 2pm in the afternoon, light appetizers and refreshments (and cake obviously). There will be light games but not to many. There will ABSOLUTELY NOT be the game where you have to guess how big around the mother to be is. (Sorry Megan... Im pretty sure we played this game at your shower lol.) I just want it to be relaxed and mellow and just a nice gathering of all my friends. It will be interesting having all my little sub groups in one place. Stevie will also be the only guy there since I am opting out of it being co-ed.
My thumb hurts. I made eggs and toast for breakfast for David and I and burnt my thumb on the toaster oven. GRR! I hate that. I just wasnt paying attention cause I was packing our lunches at the same time and didnt want the toast to burn so I just flung it open and grabbed the rack that toast was on lol. OOPS!
I have done so good with our meal planning this week! We havent eaten out at all in a week. I have made breakfast, lunch, and dinner every single day. I make Dinner at night and while I am doing that I make the main part of our lunch. Then I wake up 25 minutes earlier then usual and get ready and then make David and I salads to go with our lunch and peel fruit to go with the lunch. While I am doing that I get breakfast going... usually stove top oats or eggs or little quiches. Then I put breakfast on the table and lunches by the door. I wake David up and he comes and eats with me and then I head out to work while he does the dishes and then starts his "getting ready" routine. We are on a roll. Im just trying to get into a good routine so that when Adella is born and I stay home (if we make that as our final decision) its not like having to learn how to be domestic all of a sudden.
Okay Im going to go prepare my meal plan for this week so I can make my weekly grocery trip tomorrow. Maybe Ill post my meal plan so you guys can comment or add or even make your own :) I need to go on Ralphs.com and see whats on sale this week too. That always helps with planning.
